While it t00k all day t0 install, everything went fine and the unit perf0rms as expected. The 4-button remote can be used t0 replace the fact0ry remote 0n m0st vehicles. The range 0n the rem0te seems excellent. I walked several hundred feet d0wn my street t0 where I c0uld n0 l0nger see the car - pushed the start butt0n - and when I returned the car was running. I have n0t had the unit l0ng en0ugh t0 c0mment 0n reliability but all the DE brands seem t0 get g00d reviews fr0m the pr0s.

I have been installing rem0te starts pr0fessi0nally f0r ar0und 13 years n0w, and have always had g00d results with DEI pr0ducts. The 4103 w0rks well, and als0 has a DBI p0rt all0wing y0u t0 plug in interface m0dules t0 bypass the Imm0bilizer system, c0ntr0l keyless etc. I always pair my rem0te starts with iDatalink Multi series interfaces (such as the ads al-ca 0r the ads TB units). Flash the m0dule, plug int0 the 4103's DBI/D2D p0rt, and h00k just a few wires fr0m the 4103 int0 the car (s0metimes literally just p0wer, gr0und, and igniti0n as the ADS unit d0es nearly everything else f0r y0u 0ver the CAN)

The Avital 4103 Remote start system is an excellent value f0r the m0ney. Tw0 auxiliary channels plus d00r l0ck/unl0ck are included. This design 0f rem0te is m0re than several years 0ld and has pr0ven its durability. They are als0 s0mewhat water resistant as the butt0ns are all 0ne piece and seal against the back plastic c0ver. This m0dule als0 has a gr0und while l0cked that can be used f0r starter disable. The 0nly caveat is DEI has fallen behind 0ther c0mpanies such as FORTIN 0n CAN bus bypass m0dules. If y0u have a vehicle that really needs a f0rtin m0dule, then I w0uld rec0mmend the l0wer c0st crimest0pper rem0te start system.
